Project Attributes

School: Shawnee Mission North High School

Class: Marketing Management

Instructor: Beth Ann Johnstone

Client: MVP Gaming

Problem: How can we create targeted marketing strategies that help MVP Gaming successfully launch, grow its customer base, and engage specific audiences in the community?

Summary

Students were divided into five specialized groups, each tasked with developing a comprehensive marketing plan focused on a specific area of the business: birthday party promotion, grand opening event planning, middle school student engagement (specifically targeting nearby Trailridge Middle School), summer camp advertising, and social media strategy. Each group applied marketing concepts to design creative, actionable plans aligned with MVP Gaming’s goals.

The project culminated in professional presentations delivered to Mr. Reeves, providing MVP Gaming with tailored strategies to increase visibility, attract customers, and support a successful launch and continued growth. This experience offered students a meaningful opportunity to apply classroom learning in a practical, client-focused setting.

Takeaways

Students learned to problem-solve, plan, and organize a marketing plan for a specific area through teamwork.

Advice

Just jump in and try it. Be as organized as possible and start small. Do not try to do too much, and remember this is for learning purposes not product purposes.
