Instructor: Adam Myer
Client: Various Olathe South Internal groups
Problem: How can we use design to elevate visibility, branding, and engagement for school programs?
Summary
The project began by identifying internal clients—coaches, sponsors, and staff—who required support in branding and promotion. Students selected projects based on their interests and skillsets and engaged in planning meetings to understand each group’s vision and goals. Some students partnered with clients such as Falcon Landing (the student store), Boys and Girls Basketball, Strength & Conditioning, and Golf teams. The design process, students worked within feedback loops, refining drafts and aligning their products with client expectations and course objectives.
Final deliverables included posters, promotional materials, social media graphics, and merchandise designs, many of which were printed, displayed, and used in real-time across campus and digital platforms. Despite some challenges—such as tight deadlines and shifting client needs—students gained hands-on experience in professional design workflows. The visibility and impact of their work fostered a strong sense of ownership and motivation, reinforcing the value of design in real-world settings.
