Problem: What does it really take to succeed—and find fulfillment—in a career in healthcare?

Summary

Guided by the central question, “What does it really take to succeed—and find fulfillment—in a career in healthcare?” Students began by researching potential career paths and identifying the necessary post-secondary education and certifications for their chosen roles.

Students built professional LinkedIn profiles to establish an online presence and connect with healthcare professionals aligned with their interests. Using tools like Microsoft Bookings and Teams, each student conducted a virtual interview with a subject matter expert, asking questions about the expert’s educational background, career journey, and advice for aspiring healthcare workers. These interviews were recorded, edited, and developed into individual podcast-style videos for YouTube and social media, creating a resource that informs and inspires students, parents, and educators about real-world pathways in healthcare.

Takeaways

We are able to pair with the Audio Visual Business class, which was really helpful. We are using our audio-visual pathway to edit the interview videos for YouTube, IG, FB, etc. The business classes will determine the marketing strategies needed for social media postings and create a schedule to implement. This tool will allow other students across the metro, state, and country access to learn about healthcare professional careers.

Advice

Make sure to focus on the production schedule with current students and the other classroom teachers.
