Summary

In collaboration with Lucky 13 Rescue, students participated in an RWL project focused on raising awareness about dog adoption and fostering. After engaging directly with the rescue organization to learn about the needs of adoptable animals, students designed original pieces of artwork to highlight specific dogs and promote their adoption. Each artwork was paired with a digital media component to enhance outreach efforts. These creations were displayed both digitally and in print, helping several dogs find new homes. Additionally, the artwork was featured in fundraising campaigns for the rescue, allowing students to contribute meaningfully to their community while developing creative and advocacy skills.

Takeaways

Students practiced empathy and creativity throughout this project. Physically they drew, collaged, and painted. These practices created huge gains and turned this project into a success.
