Morning Breakout Sessions (10:15 am)
- The Entrepreneurial mindset and how to teach it—Room: Troost
What is the entrepreneurial mindset? How do you even begin to teach it to students? Join this panel of experts to learn more about the core tenets of entrepreneurialism, how entrepreneurialism can benefit any student, and how to best foster student learning. - Navigating change series debrief—Room: Brush Creek
How do you manage change? Throughout this year, a group of over 30 educators in the region have experienced the Navigating Change series, a workshop series focused on topics from the Influencer change management model. Three of the series participants will lead a session recapping their learnings and offering insights on leveraging change management to improve Real World Learning implementation.- Led by Angelia Schnakenberg – Blue Springs School District, Britt Sherer and Tommie Davis – Shawnee Mission School District, Erin Fajen – On The Up, LLC
- Spotlight on student business owners—Room: Town Square
This session will allow participants to hear from various student business owners from the Shawnee Mission School District. Students will provide insight on their experiences starting and operating their businesses, as well as what they’ve learned about themselves in the process.- Led by Tiffany Dixon – Shawnee Mission School District, plus students!

Students from the Student Voice, Student Ambassador, and Journalism Lab programs will share more about their experiences and how educators can better support them. - How to embed entrepreneurship in your class—Room: Brush Creek
Educator and entrepreneur Tiffany Dixon will facilitate a discussion on how to integrate entrepreneurship into any class. Whether you are teaching an entrepreneurship class or weaving in entrepreneurial concepts in a core content class, there are strategies applicable to any academic area.- Led by Tiffany Dixon – Shawnee Mission School District
- Social Entrepreneurship—Room: Town Square
Join our panel of social entrepreneurs as they highlight their organizations, how they were able to create viable careers out of community-based work, and what insights they would impart to young people.
